Temperature Sensors

Excessive heat in pump and vacuum systems is not good for the equipment nor is it good for your pocket. Excessive heat is pointing to equipment failure and wastage of electricity. To get on top of these problems heat sensors can be installed to let you know what the equipment temperature is, and/or to shut down systems when temperature thresholds are exceeded.

Electric motors generally come with temperature sensors built into the windings and control systems so the motor will shut down before damage is done to the motor. It’s the other components equipment that needs to be looked at.

Excessive heat in the bearings is showing that:

  • the cooling system is not working; or,
  • the bearings are failing

Calect can design and install temperature sensors to protect your electrical and mechanical systems and control your expenditure

Temperature sensors can be installed in many situations to detect equipment that is failing or already failed. These sensors can be linked to control systems or be sent out as alarms for you to act on. Either way Calect has the experience to set up systems to give you additional levels of confidence that your equipment is working like it should.
